<p>Job Title: Quality Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans for CNC-machined thermal products. This role involves reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quality planning and leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer quality issues.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans for CNC-machined thermal products. </li><li>Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate quality planning. </li><li>Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and customer quality issues. </li><li>Support first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections. </li><li>Collaborate closely with CNC machinists, programmers, and supervisors to resolve quality concerns and improve processes. </li><li>Analyze quality data and trends, and recommend process improvements. </li><li>Manage nonconforming material reports and coordinate disposition activities. </li><li>Assist with customer, internal, and third-party audits, including ISO 9001. </li><li>Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment. </li><li>Support supplier quality activities, including supplier evaluations and corrective actions. </li><li>Implement and maintain statistical methodologies for process improvement. </li><li>Train production and inspection personnel on quality standards and best practices. </li><li>Collaborate daily with internal departments, including sales, customer service, engineering, purchasing, and production. </li><li>Lead and direct the shop-floor quality team, including training and addressing technical challenges. </li><li>Perform other tasks and special projects as needed. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree is required. </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of Quality Engineering experience. </li><li>Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T. </li><li>Experience with quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis, and 8D. </li><li>Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other applicable quality management systems. </li><li>Proficiency with statistical software such as MiniTab or JMP. </li><li>Experience using inspection equipment like calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>ASQ quality-related certifications such as CQE or CQA are preferred. </li><li>Lean / Six Sigma certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt are preferred. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems. </li></ul> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Aurora, IL.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.</p> <p>offers a competitive salary, full benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, EAP and 401k with employer match, annual bonus if company hits target numbers</p> <p>Workplace Type</p> <p>This is a fully onsite position in Aurora,IL.</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>This position is anticipated to close on Mar 13, 2026.</p> <p>About Actalent</p> <p>Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
