The department seeks candidates for a full-time Resident Director (RD) position, an administrative contract position within the Department of Housing & Residence Life which reports directly to an Assistant Director of Housing & Residence Life. Directly supervising a residential community comprised of 200-600 residents. The RD position is an integral part of the Housing and Residence Life team. The department has designed and implemented a residential curriculum and RDs will have the opportunity to be part of establishing a curricular approach at OU, as well as other initiatives to support retention and student success.</p> <p>In addition to unique opportunities within various communities, RDs have the following core responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise a team of student staff, depending on community </li><li>Design and implementation of an educational and community development </li></ul> <p>plan for their residential community.</p> <ul> <li>Advise hall council. </li><li>Facilitate a variety of business operations processes that support the </li></ul> <p>residential experience.</p> <ul> <li>Manage crisis and facilities concerns, in addition to serving in an on-call </li></ul> <p>rotation.</p> <ul> <li>Serving as a university hearing officer. </li></ul> <p>Successful candidates will possess skills to:</p> <ul> <li>Foster strong, inclusive residential communities. </li><li>Build relationships with residents and department colleagues. </li><li>Demonstrate a commitment to intentional learning and assessment. </li><li>Mentor and coach staff with intentionality. </li><li>Collaborate with faculty and staff across the institution. </li></ul> <p>Requirements for Position:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required by start date; master's degree preferred. </li><li>Some relevant work experience strongly preferred </li></ul> <p>In the Division of Student Affairs, we demonstrate effort for all to understand their individual and collective role in creating inclusive environments and use a perspective of Social Justice in their work.
