The Pediatric Neurologist/Neurointensivist will be part of a thriving academic/clinical team in the Division of Pediatric Neurology in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine. The physician will provide high-level care, including attending on the neurology ICU consultation service, staffing outpatient clinic, and providing both inpatient neurovascular consultations as well as acute telehealth and telestroke consultation and care through our Virtual Hospital and telestroke initiatives. Clinical duties will comprise ~90% of the individual's time commitment. Clinical activities will take place primarily at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT, Primary Children's Eccles Outpatient Building in Salt Lake City, UT, and Primary Children's Hospital Outpatient Clinics in Lehi, UT.</p> <p>The Division of Pediatric Neurology maintains an excellent collegial relationship with our pediatric neurosurgical, vascular neurosurgical, hematology, rehabilitation and neuroimaging colleagues, and neurointensive care is an area of expanding need. Beyond this, the Division provides specialty care in a variety of pediatric and developmental neurological conditions including neuromuscular, vascular disease, movement disorders, headache and functional neuroimaging. The pediatric neurovascular team remains tightly integrated within a larger, collaborative division in which nearly all pediatric neurology services within the state of Utah (as well as across much of the Intermountain West) are delivered through our group. In addition to clinical care, the faculty member will participate in education and scholarly activities, with opportunities in quality improvement and advocacy.</p> <p>Qualified candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in both Pediatrics and Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology. Subspecialty training in neonatal neurology, stroke, and/or neurologic intensive care is strongly preferred. The selected candidates will receive faculty appointments in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical track at the academic rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.</p> <p>The Department and University offers a competitive salary and exceptional benefits program including non-contributory retirement contributions of 20.2% of annual salary.
