<p>New Orleans NourishCorps summer field specialist</p> <p>NourishCorps Summer Members will strengthen Second Harvest's food bank's capacity to distribute summer feeding meals efficiently in rural non congregate settings, support nutrition and child nutrition programs, and connect neighbors with essential food resources. Members will participate in summer food service programs, and support program logistics while building relationships with neighbors and community partners. The NourishCorps summer members will serve in a unique position at their host site food bank and its partner children's summer feeding sites and agencies, expanding the food bank's capacity to connect children and their families with summer food service sites and with nutritious food and strengthen children's summer feeding programming overall. Members will enhance program delivery, monitoring, food assistance, program outreach, and data collection efforts across their food bank's service area while engaging directly with neighbors, children, community partners, and volunteers. The NourishCorps Summer Associate will: 1. Serve one on one with Summer Food Service Program sites with programmatic activities at off-site partner agencies and distribution sites. 2. Provide technical support and guidance to partner agencies, schools and community centers on program enrollment, coordination, and ongoing communication for the summer meal programs. • Performing duties in accordance with food bank safety policies and Feeding Louisiana's NourishCorps member handbook. • Attending and completing all NourishCorps and food bank required training and orientations. • Traveling to other Louisiana food banks for training, service, and networking opportunities with NourishCorps members throughout the state. This position is abbreviated time and 100 hours total from June 1st- June 30th.
