<p>Job Description and Duties</p> <p>The Office of the Secretary of State is recruiting to fill a permanent full-time Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) position in the Information Technology Division (ITD).</p> <p>Under the general direction of a Business, Executive Applications and Registry System (BEARS) Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I is responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks related to the Software Engineering domain to support multiple mission critical SOS applications and systems. The incumbent works closely with the solutions architects, business analysts, developers, testers of their own domain and other domains. The incumbent works, both independently and cooperatively with others, to carry out assignments using considerable judgment to achieve objectives while following established time frames and performance standards. The Incumbent must have a high degree of knowledge and experience in the technical domain of Software Engineering and IT Project Support required for this classification.</p> <p>Desirable Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. </li><li>Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in developing, customizing, and supporting applications in a cloud-based environment. </li><li>Minimum 2 years programing experience .NET, .NET Core, C#, JavaScript, and Structure Query Language (SQL) or equivalent. </li><li>Knowledge of software testing and testing tools. </li><li>Understand cloud computing technology platforms (e.g., PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS). </li><li>Minimum 1 year experience with development tools, and application automation using CI/CD. </li><li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. </li><li>Knowledge and experience in industry best practices and standards in the Software Development Life Cycle, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies. </li><li>Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both orally and in writing; and to convey highly technical information in an understandable manner to non-technical people. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. </li><li>Ability to work independently or in a team environment. </li><li>Analytical and problem-solving skills, including good research skills. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Questionnaire: Applicants must submit a Supplemental Questionnaire responding to the questions listed below, it should be no more than two (2) pages typed, using business professional font, font size and formatting.
