<p>Practice Medicine with Purpose - Join Esperanza as a Family or Med/Peds Physician</p> <p>Are you a board-certified physician looking to provide excellent primary care in a faith-based, community health setting? Esperanza Health Center is seeking a Family Medicine or Med/Peds Physician to join our team in North Philadelphia. You'll care for a vibrant, predominantly Latino patient population while working alongside a collaborative team of clinicians committed to compassionate, Christ-centered healthcare. This is a rewarding opportunity to integrate your medical skills with spiritual service and make a lasting impact in an underserved community.</p> <p>Position Title: Family Medicine or Med/Peds Physician</p> <p>Department: Clinical Services</p> <p>Reports To: Medical Director</p> <p>Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt</p> <p>Location: Esperanza Health Center - North Philadelphia</p> <p>Loan Repayment Eligibility: National Health Service Corps, Pennsylvania Loan Repayment Program, or Project MedSend</p> <p>Language Requirement: Spanish proficiency preferred; willingness to learn required</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Physician provides high-quality, Christ-centered primary care to patients of all ages in a community health setting. This includes managing acute and chronic medical conditions, collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams, mentoring students and mid-level providers, and supporting Esperanza's spiritual mission. Physicians must be committed to biblical ethics in medical practice and care delivery.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Clinical Excellence & Workflow</p> <ul> <li> <p>Arrive to shifts and meetings on time and prepared</p> </li><li> <p>Complete clinical documentation within 24 hours of patient visits</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain current licensure, DEA registration, and CME credits</p> </li><li> <p>Manage patient panels and meet personal volume targets</p> </li><li> <p>Respond promptly to urgent patient calls and messages</p> </li></ul> <p>? Team-Based Care</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lead and participate in team huddles</p> </li><li> <p>Delegate responsibilities to medical assistants and support staff effectively</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure timely follow-up for chronic conditions, abnormal labs, and no-shows</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate care for walk-ins and unscheduled patients</p> </li><li> <p>Encourage efficiency and minimize patient wait times</p> </li><li> <p>Model positive, respectful communication with all team members</p> </li><li> <p>Chart and complete referrals in real time when possible</p> </li></ul> <p>Clinical Judgment</p> <ul> <li> <p>Deliver appropriate care based on established clinical guidelines</p> </li><li> <p>Practice cost-effective, evidence-based medicine</p> </li><li> <p>Perform and document procedures accurately and safely</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain up-to-date problem and medication lists</p> </li><li> <p>Follow up on all high-risk labs and referrals</p> </li><li> <p>Avoid prescribing or referring for elective pregnancy terminations; follow a biblical ethic on reproductive health</p> </li></ul> <p>Holistic & Spiritual Care</p> <ul> <li> <p>Screen for psychological and social needs and refer appropriately</p> </li><li> <p>Provide spiritual care, including prayer, Scripture, and gospel-centered encouragement when welcomed by the patient</p> </li><li> <p>Respect boundaries and avoid coercive spiritual conversations</p> </li><li> <p>Serve all patients with humility, love, and self-control, regardless of faith background</p> </li></ul> <p>Interpersonal & Leadership Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Resolve conflicts directly and respectfully</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a positive presence and contribute to team morale</p> </li><li> <p>Precept and mentor medical learners and support team members</p> </li><li> <p>Provide supervision for NPs and PAs as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in daily staff devotions and contribute to Esperanza's spiritual culture</p> </li><li> <p>Be actively involved in a Bible-teaching church</p> </li><li> <p>Suggest and support continuous quality and process improvement</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Use administrative time efficiently</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate on educational and promotional initiatives (optional)</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with grant, fundraising, and outreach efforts (optional)</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Board-certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics</p> </li><li> <p>Spanish proficiency or strong willingness to learn</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working in underserved communities preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to integrating Christian faith into patient care</p> </li><li> <p>Must be eligible for and maintain necessary credentials for licensure and hospital privileges</p> </li></ul> <p>COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement</p> <p>All Esperanza Health Center employees, contractors, and volunteers working on-site are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Valid medical or religious exemption requests will be reviewed; start dates may be delayed pending compliance.</p>
