The Director ensures compliance with all Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) regulations and promotes the highest standards of law enforcement training for cadets and certified police officers.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide leadership and oversight for all Academy programs, ensuring alignment with MPOETC standards and College policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with College administration, instructors, and external stakeholders to develop, review, and update Academy curriculum.</p> </li><li> <p>Design and implement cadet support services that promote recruitment, retention, and successful program completion.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct regular assessment of learning outcomes and program effectiveness for continuous improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain complete and accurate documentation for MPOETC inspections and accreditation processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee daily Academy operations, including scheduling, staffing, facilities, and budget management.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent the College and Academy at professional meetings, community events, and law enforcement partnerships.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster strong working relationships between law enforcement agencies and the College.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Education, or a closely related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Ten (10) years in law enforcement, including at least five (5) years in an administrative or supervisory capacity or fifteen (15) years increasingly responsible full-time experience as a Federal, State, or municipal police officer with at general police powers; OR</p> </li><li> <p>Be a graduate of one of the following:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li> <p></p> </li></ul> <p>The Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy</p> <ul> <li> <p>The Southern Police Institute Administrative Officers Course</p> </li><li> <p>The Law Enforcement Instructor Training Course of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center</p> </li><li> <p>The Northwestern University Staff and Command School</p> </li><li> <p>Other law enforcement training program approved by MPOETC</p> </li><li> <p>Possess at least two years of experience as a police or adult education instructor.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, and professional integrity.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and community partners.</p> </li><li> <p>Academy director must be free of convictions for a disqualifying criminal offense.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in law enforcement training or academy administration.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven success in community policing or partnership initiatives.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>This position is full-time and may require some evening and weekend hours and state travel based on Academy scheduling and operational needs.</p> <p>Salary Range $70,000 - $80,000 (Commensurate with background and experience)</p> <p>Application</p> <p>Apply online at: https://bucks.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/BCCC</p> <p>Applications must consist of a letter of application addressing this specific position and the candidate's interest and qualifications for coming to Bucks County Community College, resume/CV, and a list of five professional references.
