<p>Job ID: 112277</p> <p>The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Join our Danbury, CT team as a Manufacturing Engineer! In this role, you are the technical lead for manufacturing engineering to support production of naval electronics. You will develop processes in accordance with customer quality requirements while focusing on Continuous Improvement and meeting Key Performance Indicators.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop and streamline production operations in manufacturing execution system </li><li>Identify and support required tooling to achieve production goals </li><li>Pulls and analyzes production data to solve problems and aid in evidence based decision making </li><li>Optimize floor layout based on business forecasts </li><li>Partner with engineering department to achieve design for manufacturing ability targets </li><li>Mentor junior engineers to learn on-the-job skills </li><li>Lead lean or Kaizen events and implement at the site-level on an ongoing basis </li><li>Trusted with using sound judgment for production based situations and providing general guidance on new assignments </li><li>Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering field with 5+ years applicable engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience) </li><li>Specialties may include manufacturing, production, industrial, tooling, testing, processing, software, robotics, and automation </li><li>Lean implementation experience in a manufacturing environment and a green or black belt in Six Sigma, preferred </li><li>Familiarity with the following systems, preferred: ERP Systems (Deltek/Costpoint 8), MES (Solumina), PLM (Empower and Arena), 3-D Modeling (Creo) </li></ul> <p>U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.</p> <p>Taking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
