<p>The Tesla Camera Team designs and integrates camera modules and cleaning solutions across all Tesla vehicle platforms. The team joins mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines in a highly collaborative team. We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineers to play a role in building this ambitious vision into reality. There will be an emphasis on creative problem-solving abilities and technical rigor for this role.</p> <ul> <li>Support the integration and performance of sensor cleaning systems, primarily for camera on autonomous and electric vehicles </li><li>Design and validate cleaning systems (nozzles, air jets, wipers) for ADAS sensors and design creative design solutions and mechanisms to support Autopilot requirements </li><li>Collaborate with Autopilot, electrical, and body engineering teams </li><li>Develop system-level integration with sensor housings and develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its determined lifetime </li><li>Investigate several cleaning technologies and help validate them on fleet vehicles </li><li>Fabricate prototypes, iterate rapidly, advance your concepts through to volume production </li><li>Manage suppliers to execute projects according to the design specifications and timeline commitments </li><li>3 years of experience in automotive ADAS or cleaning system development </li><li>Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics or equivalent experience </li><li>Hands-on Prototyping and validating next generation automotive cleaning technologies </li><li>Presenting, documenting and educating others regarding cleaning performance, integration challenges and serviceability impacts </li><li>Proficiency in designing parts and assemblies using 3D modeling software (CATIA preferred) </li><li>Experience drafting engineering drawings and conducting tolerance stack-up analysis (GD&T is a bonus) </li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment </li></ul>
