<p>Classification</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Minimum Pay</p> <p>$19.26</p> <p>Compensation will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience.</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY</p> <p>Will ensure proper maintenance of assigned college grounds to reflect a positive image of the college. Will maintain an attractive, pleasant, and safe external environment at the college.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Perform ground maintenance of college property such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs and snow removal, to keep grounds hazard-free and attractive. </li><li>Perform landscaping duties such as planting and proper care of new and existing plants, installing and/or repairing retaining walls, edging, etc. </li><li>Inspect, maintain, and properly store all tools and equipment. </li><li>Inspect, repair and maintain sprinkler system as needed. </li><li>Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment daily. </li><li>Pick up litter, limbs, and debris and empty trash receptacles. </li><li>Assist in facility use set-ups. </li><li>This position is designated essential and may be called in for emergency situations, to include, but not limited to snow removal, structural failures, and natural disasters. </li><li>Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge in the use of pesticides, fungicides, turf chemicals and fertilizers. </li><li>Knowledge in lawn care and landscaping. </li><li>Skills in operation of standard lawn care and light construction equipment and vehicles. </li><li>Manual dexterity and motor coordination skills to perform grounds maintenance. </li><li>Ability of lift in excess of 100 lbs. </li><li>Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach and walk to complete assigned tasks. </li><li>Ability to drive. </li><li>Ability to handle extreme temperatures and harsh working conditions. </li><li>Ability to use a personal computer. </li><li>Ability to communicate verbally, written form, voice, e-mail etc. </li><li>Ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures and ethnicities. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>One year related work experience. </li><li>Valid driver's license and insurability by college carrier to drive college vehicles. </li><li>E.P.A. certification preferred. </li><li>This position is categorized as "designated", as it pertains to temporary College closures or adverse conditions. </li><li>Must pass background check. </li></ul> <p>The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all inclusive.
