<p>The Machine Tool Technology Instructor shall perform the duties as specified in conformity with the policies established by the Alabama Community College System and the Bishop State Community College Faculty and Staff Handbook.The essential functions listed below are not comprehensive. Duties and responsibilities may change without notice to meet institutional and industry needs.</p> <p>Instruction & Student Support</p> <ul> <li>Teach 15-18 credit hours per semester and/or the equivalent in non-credit or combined credit/non-credit offerings. </li><li>Provide effective classroom and laboratory instruction within the assigned credentialed area. </li><li>Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, and evaluation tools. </li><li>Recruit, advise, and support students from enrollment through program completion. </li><li>Evaluate student progress using institutional and depa1tmental criteria; maintain accurate class records (grades, attendance, withdrawals, drops). </li><li>Advise students on academic and career pathways; promote student leadership and enrichment activities. </li></ul> <p>Curriculum & Program Development</p> <ul> <li>Review and update curriculum regularly to align with current industry standards and workforce needs. </li><li>Develop and teach web-based and technology-enhanced courses. </li><li>Establish and conduct industry adviso1y committee meetings (minimum twice annually) and maintain records to support program evaluation, curriculum improvements, and training equipment selection. </li><li>Ensure program alignment with credentialing and/or certification standards (e.g., NCCER, NIMS,NC3). </li></ul> <p>Safety & Facility Management</p> <ul> <li>Ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors in all instructional areas. </li><li>Maintain and inspect safety equipment (e.g., eyewash stations, fire extinguishers). </li><li>Maintain organization, cleanliness, and operational readiness of classrooms, labs, tools, and equipment. </li></ul> <p>Technology & Industry Expertise</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated competency in educational technologies, learning management systems, and common productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Word, PowerPoint). </li><li>Knowledge and experience in: </li><li>Programming various CNC machine tool brands. </li><li>CAD/CAM software applications. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Associate Degree from an accredited institution in Machine Tool Technology or related field. </li><li>Three (3) years successful full-time work experience infield. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Experienced in additive (3D printing) manufacturing </li></ul> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Position announcements and employment applications are available at https://www.schooljobs.com/careers/accs/bishopstate? Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding. Frequent walking, standing, or sitting may be required. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.</p> <p>Other Job Description information I:</p> <p>More than one position in the same job classification may be filled from the applicants for this position should another vacancy occur during the search process. In accordance with Alabama Community College System policy and guidelines, the applicant chosen for employment will be required to sign a consent form for a criminal background check. Employment will be contingent upon receipt of a clearance notification from the criminal background check. The Committee will select applicants for in-person interviews which may consist of question/answer session and /or skills assessments.
