<p>Summary: Provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students; provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings; monitors and evaluates student outcomes; develops, selects or modifies lessons plans to ensure all student needs are met; maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of NCDPI and CMS.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Develops lesson plans related to trade and industry digital manufacturing and design. </li><li>Works directly with students in the fabrication laboratory (FabLab) to design and develop prototype models. </li><li>Teaches students how to use the software, the machines, and to follow safety procedures, as well as assisting in the fabrication and design phases of their projects. </li><li>Provides normal maintenance of the lab machines and insures that inventory of materials and parts is up to date and available. </li><li>Utilizes classroom management techniques conducive to an effective classroom climate. </li><li>Uses appropriate techniques and strategies which promote and enhance critical, creative and innovative thinking capabilities of students. </li><li>Takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities. </li><li>Performs related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of emerging trends, resources and technology related to trade and industry digital manufacturing and design. </li><li>Knowledge of computer generated technology and electronics. </li><li>Knowledge of Common Core and NC Essential Standards. </li><li>Knowledge of CMS Strategic Plan. </li><li>Knowledge of General Statute 115C of the NC State Law concerning Public Education. </li><li>Knowledge of CMS policies, rules and regulations. </li><li>Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, prioritize projects, plan starting and ending deadlines, and successfully bring closure to projects. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Ability and desire to seek and pass on knowledge to others in an educational/learning environment. </li><li>Proficiency in common desktop applications (web browsing, word processing, image editing etc.) required. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school based staff, students, parents and the community. </li><li>Ability to work confidentially and with discretion. </li></ul>
