The Division of Med-Peds manages patients from newborns to centenarians.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>The faculty member appointed will be expected to contribute to departmental teaching programs involving medical students and house staff. He/She will participate in preparation/organization of new educational programs as well as participation in university/ college assigned committees. The individual will be expected to effectively utilize his/her clinical practice as a teaching resource. </li><li>The faculty member will be encouraged to participate in ongoing research and in seeking funding for research. Collaborative effort within the Department and the University will be encouraged. </li><li>The faculty member will be responsible for the management of patients primarily in the outpatient setting at the USF Health Med-Peds clinic. Night and weekend call per the general pediatrics schedule. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li><li>Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>MINIMUM:</p> <ul> <li>Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. </li><li>Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.The successful candidate must be board certified or eligible in internal medicine/ general pediatrics. </li><li>Candidates must have or be eligible for an unrestricted full medical license in the state of Florida. </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Experience in a teaching environment </li></ul> <p>About Us</p> <p>Working at USF</p> <p>With approximately 16,000 employees, the University of South Florida is one of the largest employers in the Tampa Bay area.
