Growing together.</p> <p>Schedule: A 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm to 1:00 am.</p> <p>Location: 2800 Marcus Avenue, Suite 103 Lake Success, NY 11042</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Accessions or verifies previously accessioned orders in the Orders Management System </li><li>Makes corrections to orders as needed before receiving them into the Lab System </li><li>Receives orders electronically into the Lab System </li><li>Places barcode labels appropriately onto specimens received </li><li>Centrifuges specimens appropriately </li><li>Prepares and labels aliquots of specimens as needed for freezing or split sampling </li><li>Distributes prepared specimens to various laboratory departments </li><li>Prepares send out manifests for reference lab work and packs specimens according to the manifest </li><li>Calls the reference lab as needed to verify specimen requirements and to arrange special handling of specimens </li><li>Alerts the supervisor to improperly collected specimens or mislabeled specimens </li><li>Expedites add on testing by locating a previously collected specimen and building an order </li><li>Maintains a chain of custody for irreplaceable specimens according to Optum policies </li><li>Maintains patient confidentiality </li><li>Rectifies reference lab pending logs and posts results that are held in the fix queue </li><li>Performs related work as required </li></ul> <p>What are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? Skill interacting with medical staff</p> </li></ul> <p>Soft Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Demonstrated solid organizational skills to ensure accurate processing, along with the demonstrated ability to multitask while maintaining a calm and effectual demeanor</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with patients, laboratory team members, clinicians, and other clinical staff</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated adaptability to new processes demonstrated through Continuous Process Improvement</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, contributing to the overall efficiency of the laboratory</p> </li></ul> <p>Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
