<p>The Imaging aide works under the direction of leadership in imaging services and provides support as it relates to daily operations. This individual must provide patients with focused compassionate care to ensure the patients' needs are met. The imaging aide must communicate with patients and colleagues professionally and efficiently while providing high quality service.</p> <p>Department Summary:</p> <p>The department provides imaging services within the health care facility to patients in need.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Previous healthcare experience preferred. </li><li>CPR Certification </li></ul> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status.</p> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Detail oriented </li><li>Adaptability to changing work environment or needs </li><li>Functions in a time efficient and cost-effective manner. </li><li>Demonstrates willingness to help others. </li><li>Seeks assignments when duties are completed. </li><li>Seeks out waste and ways to eliminate it. </li><li>Handles supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner. </li><li>Open only needed supplies for a surgical procedure. </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of procedures by anticipating any additional supplies, suture, and positioning that may be needed. </li><li>Abides by department and hospital rules and regulations. </li><li>Display knowledge of department policies and procedures. </li><li>Does not have more than 3 attendance occurrences in a year. </li><li>Functions well in stressful situations. </li><li>Adheres to dress code. </li><li>Works independently and seeks guidance as needed. </li><li>Works harmoniously with coworkers. </li><li>Communicates pertinent information to proper channels. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload. </li><li>Display positive attitude. </li><li>Demonstrate and apply rigid control of the principles and practices of aseptic technique. </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, employees, hospital, and physicians. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities & Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Provide the Imaging Service's technologists with support and assistance. </li><li>Obtain patient history prior to exam. </li><li>Verifying consents and patient lab work. </li><li>Keeping rooms stocked and clean. </li><li>Ensuring that all orders have been received and are accurate for the next business day. </li><li>Answer department telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner; direct calls to the appropriate personnel. </li><li>Schedule same day "add on" outpatients. </li><li>Schedule inpatients and arrange for patient transport. </li><li>Complete tasks and requests made by the Radiologists. </li><li>Clerical duties. </li><li>Follow all Aultman Health Foundation policies and procedures for safety, infection control, HIPPA, etc. </li><li>Will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating rooms on their assigned teams. </li><li>Faxing reports and releasing images to outside facilities </li><li>Call and confirm patient appointments and give instructions </li><li>Take patients on and off Imaging table </li><li>Assist in room clean up, room turnover, etc. </li><li>Assist in positioning of patients when applicable. </li><li>Prioritize the needs of assigned rooms to best utilize your availability. </li><li>Be available for emergencies that arise in assigned rooms. </li><li>Organize and put away equipment and stock to specific areas. </li><li>Serve as resource person, problem solver, and facilitator for assigned rooms. </li><li>Prior to leaving for the day, will ensure that all supplies and laundry are ready and available for the remaining exams. </li><li>Modality specific responsibilities depending on area aide works in. </li><li>Maintain CPR certification. </li><li>Extensive walking or standing for long periods of time is required. </li><li>Breaks and lunch are coordinated with other personnel and workload. </li><li>Blood and body fluid exposure = 1 </li><li>Frequent changes in duties throughout working hours. </li><li>Cross training in all areas is required, as diverse duties may be assigned. </li><li>Heavy lifting, pulling, and pushing are required. </li><li>Involved with personnel, patients, and physicians under all circumstances and conditions. </li></ul> <p>Hazardous Exposure Category: Select Category I, II or III and delete the other categories.</p> <p>Category I - Includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.</p> <p>All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for spills or splashes of, or mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues are Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.</p>
