<p>"Date of Posting: July 2, 2025</p> <p>THE FOLLOWING SUPPLEMENTAL POSITION IS OPEN FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR AT PAXON HOLLOW MIDDLE SCHOOL: Best Buddies Advisor</p> <p>Title: Best Buddies Advisor Units: 4 Location: Paxon Hollow Middle School Number of Positions: 1</p> <p>Job Description: Marple Newtown Best Buddies is a club that is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students at Marple Newtown and offers the students a multitude of activities as well as an opportunity to socialize and make lasting friendships.</p> <p>Effective: 2024 - 2025 School Year</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience: Experience working with high school students and coordinating and managing events. </li><li>Skills: Strong managerial, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work with students of all ability levels. </li><li>Education: Valid PA teaching certificate. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>A faculty advisor acts as a liaison between the school administration and the club, providing guidance to student leaders and members. </li><li>Advisors work with student leaders to plan events and create opportunities for inclusion. </li><li>Advisors work with program staff and special education advisors to provide information, and support and build lasting relationships. </li><li>Advisors will communicate with parents regarding permission/consent to participate. </li><li>Advisor will promote the club and events in the school and community. </li><li>Advisors will attend events. </li><li>Advisors will schedule, organize, and arrange transportation to and from events. </li><li>Advisors will chaperone students at dances or other social events and provide supervision during all meetings. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by Administration. </li><li>Has read and understands obligations as outlined in MNSD School Board Policies. </li></ul> <p>If you are offered a position with Marple Newtown School District, please be advised that the following information will be required before you are able to begin working:</p> <p>State Police Clearance (Act 34) https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp</p>
