As an Air Monitoring Equipment Specialist, you will engage in state-of-the-art ambient air monitoring initiatives, including the maintenance and operation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Air Monitoring System (COPAMS) and various essential instruments mandated by the Federal and State Clean Air Acts. This includes reviewing automated precision checks for continuous analyzers such as SO2, NO2, O3, and CO, where a known concentration of precision gas is introduced to ensure that data readings remain within acceptable parameters. You will also be responsible for calibrating air monitoring equipment and executing corrective measures by assessing various symptoms and parameters-such as voltages, flows, pressures, temperatures, and sounds-to identify and resolve issues with air monitoring sensors, meteorological instruments, and supporting equipment.</p> <p>Additionally, you will maintain PM2.5 samplers as part of the national Chemical Speciation Network, along with high-volume air samplers for PM10, TSP, and lead. Your role will also involve operating and maintaining specialized toxic monitoring equipment, including evacuated canisters, gas chromatographs, thermodesorbers, mass spectrographs, portable survey monitors, adsorption tubes, and portable meteorological and data acquisition systems.</p> <p>Interested in learning more?
