<p>The English Language (EL) teacher is responsible for working with students whose first language is not English to develop proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. EL teachers assess student progress, provide targeted support, and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment to help students succeed academically and socially in an English-speaking setting.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement lesson plans to teach English language skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening). </li><li>Assess students' English proficiency and monitor progress over time. </li><li>Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes language development. </li><li>Adapt teaching materials and strategies to accommodate various learning styles and levels. </li><li>Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student's academic and social development. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide regular feedback to students and parents. </li><li>Prepare students for language proficiency tests and academic assessments. </li><li>Participate in professional development and stay updated on best practices in EL education. </li><li>Engaging with parents to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns. </li><li>Work with special education staff to develop and implement language support for students with additional learning needs. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul>
