<p>Are you a technical leader ready to power one of the nation's most dynamic broadcast markets? Scripps is seeking a Manager, Station Broadcasting to lead all technical, operational, and administrative functions that keep our station on-air and thriving. This is your opportunity to oversee cutting-edge broadcast systems, lead a talented technical team, and ensure seamless operations in one of the most exciting media markets in the world.</p> <p>As the technical backbone of our station, you'll manage everything from RF engineering and transmitter operations to HVAC systems and network infrastructure. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, implement innovative engineering projects, and ensure we meet all FCC requirements while delivering exceptional broadcast quality to our viewers.</p> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage and maintain all broadcast equipment/systems responsible for the daily on-air operation of the station; use RF engineering knowledge to maintain and repair all technical equipment in studio and transmitter facilities, satellite downlink/uplink, and microwave transmission systems</p> </li><li> <p>Manage and maintain all ancillary systems responsible for supporting the on-air operation, such as HVAC, networking, electrical, and mechanical systems</p> </li><li> <p>Exercise knowledge of FCC rules and regulations to protect the entity's license</p> </li><li> <p>Proactively engage with necessary third parties to resolve technical issues in an expedited manner as they arise</p> </li><li> <p>Carry out troubleshooting as needed or escalate to Engineering Support for further diagnosis</p> </li><li> <p>Implement new engineering projects as directed by the Regional Director, Station Operations, Station Monitoring, or Engineering Support. Manage project(s) and report status to the Regional Director, Station Operations, as needed</p> </li><li> <p>24/7 on-call availability to ensure continuous operation of the station</p> </li><li> <p>May be responsible for certain administrative duties related to business and operational transactions</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with the Station Engineer/Technician in developing their knowledge and understanding of the various needs of the station as effective back-up support staff</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate and oversee training program for Station Technicians and Engineers</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU'LL NEED</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic) or a related field preferred; or equivalent work experience</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years of experience in broadcast station operations or engineering</p> </li><li> <p>Broadcast Engineering Certification, i.e., FCC license, Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) certification, is a plus</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company's required insurance limits</p> </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU'LL BRING</p> <ul> <li> <p>High proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong time management skills in meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail</p> </li><li> <p>Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region on an as-needed basis</p> </li><li> <p>Must have a strong understanding of applicable electrical, computer networking, mechanical, structural, and civil engineering methods</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to lift to 50 pounds</p> </li></ul> <p>WHERE YOU'LL LIVE, WORK, AND PLAY</p> <p>New York, NY, is the media capital of the world and a city that never stops inspiring.
