Under close supervision, the Installer Apprentice learns and performs installation, maintenance, and servicing of telecommunications equipment.</p> <p>Upon successful completion of the training phase, apprentices will advance to a Level I Installer role, gaining hands-on field experience while working alongside experienced mentors to handle increasingly complex tasks.</p> <p>Participants will receive:</p> <ul> <li>Paid training, including classroom instruction and hands-on practice in a simulated Central Office (CO) environment. </li><li>On-the-job training under the direct supervision of an experienced Level IV Installer mentor. </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Understands and follows all Telamon established safety practices and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Properly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE).</p> </li><li> <p>Perform cable installation, termination, labeling, and lacing, adhering to industry standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Mount racks, frames, and shelves, ensuring all equipment is securely and correctly installed.</p> </li><li> <p>Reads and stays current on installation documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Addition or removal of non-powered equipment/hardware.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains quality awareness and implements quality control processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts work assignments, communicates, dresses, and assists customers in a professional manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Accurately inventory all job-related material.</p> </li></ul> <p>Managerial Responsibility</p> <ul> <li>No Direct Reports. </li></ul> <p>Travel/Shift Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be available to travel as much as 50% - 75% </li><li>Travel may require overnight stays away from home for 1-2 weeks at a time, including weekends. </li><li>Requires ability to work early morning shifts, occasional evening shifts and infrequent weekend work. </li><li>Must have reliable transportation and be able transport minor job-related tools to work locations. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and occasionally as much as 100lbs. </li><li>Ability to work on ladders and in confined spaces. </li><li>Work with and around electrical wires and ESD products in a safe manner. </li><li>Ability to work onsite in central offices, construction, or installation sites. </li><li>Requires fine motor skills and manual dexterity for gripping tools and assembling small components. </li><li>Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, squat, lift, crawl, push, and pull. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities Required</p> <ul> <li>Completion of "Basic Installation" training course or equivalent on-the-job training. </li><li>Successful completion of Safety, Business Code of Conduct, Quality Assurance, and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) training. </li><li>Good eye and hand coordination, manual dexterity, and precision to work well with a variety of hand tools. </li><li>Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail by executing installations accurately and ensuring full compliance with industry standards. </li><li>Aptitude and interest in technology with the ability to grasp and apply technical concepts. </li><li>Basic knowledge of current network products. </li><li>Proficiency operating computers, tablets, and MS Office software. </li><li>Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments. </li><li>Track and record work hours on a timely basis using time-tracking software. </li><li>Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and proof of insurance. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience Required</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or Equivalency. </li></ul> <p>Telamon Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
