<p>Job#: 3026193</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Performance & Calibration Engineer for our client based out of Hagerstown, MD.</p> <p>This assignment is anticipated to be a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.</p> <p>This will also have a first-shift Monday-Friday schedule.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Perform performance and calibration development for diesel engine systems, with primary focus on emissions and exhaust aftertreatment </li><li>Develop, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot on-board diagnostics (OBD) functions </li><li>Support regulatory and demonstration testing related to emissions and diagnostics </li><li>Analyze field and test data to improve diagnostic robustness and calibration quality </li><li>Define and support selection of performance-critical hardware components (e.g., turbo systems, sensors, aftertreatment components) </li><li>Execute calibration activities across engine and aftertreatment subsystems </li><li>Contribute to verification activities and ensure compliance with performance and regulatory requirements </li><li>Collaborate closely with data analytics, testing, and engineering teams </li><li>Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis in a fast-paced development environment </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>5+ years of hands-on experience in diesel engine performance and/or calibration engineering</p> </li><li> <p>Strong background in diesel engines, emissions control systems, and exhaust aftertreatment</p> </li><li> <p>Proven experience with OBD development, calibration, testing, or diagnostics</p> </li><li> <p>Solid understanding of:</p> </li><li> <p>Thermodynamics</p> </li><li> <p>Engine systems</p> </li><li> <p>Emissions behavior and controls</p> </li><li> <p>Mechanical engineering or systems-focused background strongly preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently in a testing and calibration environment</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Work for Apex Systems:</p> <ul> <li>We offer weekly pay, direct deposit, competitive pay rates </li><li>Health/Medical benefits, Life Insurance, 401k, Employee Stock Purchase Program </li><li>Discounts to most major certification programs, access to multiple technical training platforms and programs </li></ul> <p>Apex Benefits Overview: Apex offers a range of supplemental benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and other insurance plans that offer an optional layer of financial protection.
