<p>Employee Benefits Specialist JobID: 5453</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Human Resources/Employee Benefits Specialist</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>3/4/2026</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Administrative Offices/Human Resources</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>03/13/2026</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Vacancy for the 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Employee Benefits Specialist</p> <p>Under supervision, the Employee Benefits Specialist, coordinates and administers an employee benefits program; advises claimants of insurance, hospitalization, fringe benefits, and pension payroll plans; main point of contact for workers compensation incidents, works with employee and insurance carrier for treatment and maintains workers compensation files; and does other related duties as required.</p> <p>The candidate must maintain confidentiality regarding the personal and medical history of Board of Education employees. The person filling this role will need to possess both strong written and oral communication skills, as they will be required to serve as intermediary between the benefits department, employees, and external vendors such as insurance companies. They must also possess exceptional interpersonal skills and a focus on customer service, as they will be interacting with the entire district.</p> <p>DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentially </li><li>Assist employees in filing health benefit claims </li><li>Answer employee questions regarding benefits on the phone, via email and in-person as needed </li><li>Audit enrollment data on paper forms </li><li>Audit/reconcile employee benefits data using spreadsheets </li><li>Enter employee enrollment data in various systems, including SchoolFi and Employee Navigator to maintain Aetna and Caremark </li><li>Manage worker's compensation and employee benefits </li><li>Review and correct invoices for payment </li><li>Copy or scan documents as needed, and maintain online benefits files </li><li>Assist Administration with any systems or benefits questions </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree is required </li><li>Two (2)+ years in HR, benefits or related benefits administration preferred </li><li>Accounting background preferred </li><li>Effective communication skills, both written and oral </li><li>Experience in Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google sheets, and other applicable database </li><li>Management experience </li><li>Strong organizational skills </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations </li><li>Ability to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines </li></ul> <p>SALARY:</p> <p>Salary commensurate with experience and the BTANSAS salary guide.</p> <p>BENEFITS:</p> <p>Eligible for family Medical, Prescription, and Dental benefits. Sick, Vacation, Personal and Bereavement days are included.</p>
