This role plays an important part in supporting our customers, strengthening our business, and contributing to the long-term growth of Douglas Dynamics.</p> <p>HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE</p> <p>The Assembler/Packer will perform a variety of bench and structural assembly, boxing and bagging operations of parts, components, and assemblies for the companys snowplow and Ice Control products lines and accessories. Assembly may be performed on a paced conveyor or non-paced environment. Sets up and operates machinery and equipment such as assembly and packaging, unloading parts from a powered conveyor, bagging machines, strapper, and assorted power and hand tools. Actively participates in team and total quality commitment activities. Performs designated maintenance functions; assumes ownership for quality of all products. Participates in training and 5-S activities.</p> <p>In this role, you will leverage your skills, experience, and perspective to make a meaningful impact. Youll collaborate with teammates across the organization, contribute ideas, and help deliver results that matter for our customers and our business.</p> <p>HOW YOULL MAKE A DIFFERENCE</p> <p>Follow job instructions (JIs), standards, regulations, procedures, and quality checks to ensure compliance, product quality, and scrap reduction</p> <p>Perform bench and structural assembly, boxing, and bagging operations for snowplow and ice control products and accessories</p> <p>Assemble products in paced conveyor and non-paced environments</p> <p>Set up and operate machinery and equipment including assembly and packaging machines, powered conveyors, bagging machines, strappers, and assorted power/hand tools</p> <p>Unload, move, and handle parts/components using conveyors and material handling equipment</p> <p>Maintain safe working conditions and support 5S workplace organization practices</p> <p>Meet production plans and standards (produce to takt) while controlling costs</p> <p>Perform preventative maintenance</p> <p>Report assembly, packaging, equipment or unusual workplace issues to the BU lead or supervisor</p> <p>Participate in training, continuous improvement, and team-based problem solving</p> <p>Work collaboratively and contribute to a team-oriented environment</p> <p>Perform other duties as assigned</p> <p>WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of basic lean concepts. </li><li>Prior background in a manufacturing setting. </li><li>Product knowledge. </li><li>Organizational and research skills </li><li>Ability to report daily production </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Must be able to perform basic math </li><li>Ability to focus on multiple priorities and work a flexible schedule as needed </li><li>Able to stand and walk </li><li>Able to reach above shoulders and outward </li><li>Able to bend, squat and crawl </li><li>Able to work in both hold and cold temperatures </li><li>Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds </li></ul> <p>WHAT WE OFFER YOU</p> <ul> <li>Starting pay at $18.00 per hour </li><li>A fulfilling career with the opportunity to contribute to an industry leader </li><li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience </li><li>A comprehensive benefits package </li><li>Generous 401(k) match </li><li>Profit sharing for all full-time employees </li><li>Ongoing learning and development opportunities, including access to Douglas Dynamics University (DDU) </li></ul> <p>At Douglas Dynamics, we dont just talk about improvement we live it.
