<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The HIM Analyst is responsible for supporting the management and accuracy of patient health information, auditing health records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role helps maintain the integrity of the electronic health record (EHR) system, collaborates with cross-functional teams, and provides data analysis to enhance health information processes.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Audits and reviews health records for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance, including adherence to HIPAA guidelines. </li><li>Collaborates with coding, billing, and clinical teams to resolve discrepancies in patient records and ensure timely access to accurate information. </li><li>Assists with maintaining and optimizing the EHR system by ensuring that health information is entered and stored correctly. </li><li>Supports the preparation for internal and external audits by providing the necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. </li><li>Assists in the analysis and reporting of health information data to management, helping to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement. </li><li>Supports all compliance activities related to state, federal regulatory requirements, healthcare accreditation standards and all other applicable regulations. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li><li>Complies with all policies and standards. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>2-4 years of experience in health information management, medical records, or a related healthcare role required </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management standards. </li><li>Strong understanding of medical record workflows, documentation requirements, and regulatory compliance. </li><li>Knowledge of chart deficiency processes, provider suspension workflows, and unbilled management procedures. </li><li>Proficiency in EHR systems, document management, and health information technology platforms. </li><li>Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to ensure timely and accurate documentation. </li><li>Effective communication and collaboration with providers, HIM leadership, and interdisciplinary teams. </li><li>Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism. </li></ul>
