<p>POSITION TITLE: Assistant Principal Secretary - Secondary School</p> <p>EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-exempt</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Campus Administrator</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months</p> <p>HOURLY SALARY RANGE: Minimum $13.79, Midpoint $17.24, Maximum $20.69</p> <p>Primary Purpose</p> <p>Ensure the efficient operation of the school office and provide clerical services for administrators, teachers, and other staff.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education/Certification</p> <p>High school diploma or GED</p> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills</p> <p>Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and perform word processing</p> <p>Proficient skills in keyboarding, file maintenance and 10-key</p> <p>Effective organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills</p> <p>Knowledge of basic accounting principles</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Three years secretarial experience, preferably in a public education environment</p> <p>Major Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <p>Financial Ethics</p> <ul> <li>Comply with all policies and procedures; internal controls; board policies; and state, local, and federal laws as they pertain to the financial affairs of the district. </li><li>Promptly report to the immediate supervisor or Superintendent any suspected violations of the code of ethics, such as theft, fraud, or any other dishonest act in the workplace </li><li>Act in an ethical and honest manner in all business transactions of the district. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of all data, files and general financial information of the district. </li><li>Safeguard against unauthorized access to assigned computer system and electronic data. </li></ul> <p>Clerical Support</p> <ul> <li>Assist parents, students, and teachers, and administrative staff, as needed. </li><li>Receive calls, take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff. </li><li>Perform clerical duties as assigned. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality. </li></ul> <p>Records, Reports and Correspondence</p> <ul> <li>Prepare written correspondence, forms, schedules and reports using personal computer. </li><li>Compile and issue attendance warning letters to parents as needed. </li><li>Assist administrator with student discipline in processing documentation of the incident and punishment assessed. </li></ul> <p>Student Assistance</p> <ul> <li>Provide students with information concerning attendance records and communicate with parents regarding attendance. </li><li>Inform students of Saturday School attendance requirements and maintain records. </li><li>Administer medication and assist students with medical needs in the absence of the nurse, as needed. </li></ul> <p>Professional Growth and Development</p> <ul> <li>Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and special events as assigned. </li><li>Maintain familiarity with district initiative to better serve the needs of students. </li></ul> <p>Communication</p> <ul> <li>Articulate the district's mission and goals to the community and solicit community support. </li></ul> <p>Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors</p> <ul> <li>Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer, printer, peripherals, telephone </li><li>Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, reaching </li><li>Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, keyboarding, use of mouse, wrist flexion/extension </li><li>Lifting: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance, 30-55 pounds with assistance, and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance </li><li>Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; occasional in-district travel; occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours </li><li>Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions </li></ul>
