<p>A premier learning community that empowers each student to thrive in an ever-changing world.</p> <p>Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District TEACHER: DESIGNATED INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICE</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>PRIMARY FUNCTION:</p> <p>To assist in the diagnosis of and to provide specialist instructional service to students with special needs including visually handicapped, adaptive PE and speech pathology.</p> <p>DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Student Services</p> <p>ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Develops with supervisor objectives for his/her work.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans with site administrators to serve students with minimum description of regular instruction.</p> </li><li> <p>Screens and selects students with special needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps required records and makes reports as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Cooperates with school personnel in planning time for designated services.</p> </li><li> <p>Confers with parents and professional staff members regarding problems relating to assigned students.</p> </li><li> <p>Plans long-range objectives and therapeutic sequences for individual students, depending on the handicapping condition.</p> </li><li> <p>Meets with school staff to explain the purpose, procedures, and goals of designated service performed.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains close liaison with community agencies in order to facilitate medical referrals that occur.</p> </li><li> <p>Administers standardized and teacher-made tests to individual students.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with students, parents, teachers, and staff members of the student services team to provide high quality in the area of service assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED</p> <p>EXERCISED: Students</p> <p>RECEIVED: Director of Student Services and the principals of assigned schools.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li>Valid California credential authorizing service in designated area. </li></ol> <p>PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Work Position (Percentage of Time):</p> <p>Standing: <strong>Walking: </strong>Sitting: __</p> <p>PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS (cont.)</p> <p>Body Movement (Frequency):</p> <p>None (0) Limited (1) Occasional (2) Frequent (3) Very Frequent (4)</p> <p>Lifting (lbs.): _<em> Lifting: </em>Bending: _</p> <p>Pushing and/or Pulling Loads: <em>Reaching Overhead: </em>Kneeling or Squatting: _</p> <p>Climbing Stairs: <em>Climbing Ladder: </em></p> <p>Offer is contingent upon enrollment and student need.
