<p>Position Function:</p> <p>The Management Trainee position is designed to develop future leaders by providing comprehensive exposure to the bank's operations, products, services, and approaches to delivering high-quality service and support to customers. for job readiness in a bank management role. Through a combination of key business unit rotational assignments, on-the-job and classroom training, formalized feedback and mentoring, trainees will gain direct hands-on experience while contributing to Central Pacific Bank' s strategic initiatives. This position is responsible for working alongside managers and accepting delegated responsibilities and duties during the training period. Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will be prepared to assume entry-level management or specialist roles that align with their skills, interests, and the bank's strategic needs.</p> <p>Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner that is expressly aligned with the Company's Core Values of approaching all actions with a "Voyaging Spirit" and being "Positively Ohana". Exhibits core competencies that result in consistent delivery of positive Customer Interactions, Empowerment and Ownership and demonstrates key professional and performance skills such as Active Listening, effective Oral and Written Communication, Action and Solution Oriented and Thoroughness.</p> <p>Primary Accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li>Participates in rotational assignments across various departments. Develops a foundational understanding of banking products, services, and financial systems. Performs daily tasks or operations designated by the business unit to gain exposure to various job functions. Shadows front-line and back-office employees to understand workflow and service delivery. Assists with customer service, transactions, account opening/maintenance, and loan documentation. Supports projects or initiatives led by each department, such as process improvement, compliance reviews, or customer satisfaction analysis. Learns internal systems and platforms. </li><li>Participates in on-going internal development/engagement programs, external training, and self-study courses to improve technical and analytical skills to be used on the job and to enhance professional competencies. Utilizes knowledge and learned skills to identify opportunities to improve processes, tackle complex projects, implement innovative business solutions, and provide recommendations. Reflects on values alignment, areas of interest, and career direction within the organization. </li><li>Reviews internal documents (strategic plan, annual report, mission and values) to learn about key priorities. Participates in bank-wide employee meetings to learn about the bank's strategic priorities, upcoming initiatives and financial performance. Attends meetings with key senior leaders in various departments to build holistic view of bank's functions, challenges, and opportunities. Takes part in corporate social responsibility activities and events that support the bank's role in the community. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED equivalency required. </li><li>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4-year university, preferably in a related field preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>4+ years of general work experience (A bachelor's degree can substitute for 2 years of work experience) required. </li><li>4+ years of banking-related experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated. </li><li>Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications. </li><li>Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions. </li><li>Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents. </li><li>Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time.
