<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Ansonia Public Schools</p> <p>Part-time Math Interventionist (Non-Union)</p> <p>Elementary School - Grades (K-5)</p> <p>2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>General Responsibilities</p> <p>Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Schools, the Director of Math/Science</p> <p>Curriculum, and building administration, the responsibilities of this position are solely working</p> <p>with students. The part-time math interventionist is responsible, but not limited to, analyzing</p> <p>assessment data and providing "real time" push-in and/or pull-out research-based interventions</p> <p>in the core curricular area of Math to students receiving interventions that are currently below</p> <p>grade level based analysis of district/state assessment instruments.</p> <p>Essential Performance Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Gather, organize, and interpret assessment data on students identified for the SRBI </li><li>process </li><li>Utilize best practice instructional strategies and SRBI curriculum materials to meet the </li><li>learning needs of identified students </li><li>Model the use of intervention strategies; through small group instruction </li><li>Analyze existing student achievement data and administer student assessments and </li><li>progress monitoring instruments as needed to aid in progress monitoring of students </li><li>Provide District Math Director, Math Specialists and Teachers the information from their </li><li>small group interventions </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers, math specialists, building administrators, and </li><li>District Directors when designing and planning intervention groups </li><li>Maintain accurate student records and student progress data reports as required by Title </li><li>I law and district policy </li><li>Attend professional development opportunities that promote improved instructional </li><li>strategies and support researched-based resource material needed to implement the </li><li>intervention program successfully and support/maintain professional growth </li><li>Follow district guidelines and policies </li><li>Maintain proper professional conduct as defined in the Connecticut Code of Professional </li><li>Responsibilities for Teachers </li><li>Keep in confidence all personal, student, or personnel records and information </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Knowledge of Ansonia Public Schools curriculum and techniques for integrating curriculum,</p> <p>Ansonia Public Schools policies and effective instructional practices; thorough understanding of</p> <p>the teaching and learning process; ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple</p> <p>perspectives and multicultural education; ability to infuse technology into curriculum; ability to</p> <p>work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school based staff, students,</p> <p>parents and community; ability to use diagnostic data to tailor instruction to meet the needs of</p> <p>the student(s); excellent organizational, communication, and human relations skills.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Required certification: High School Diploma OR Associate's Degree OR (013 or 305) </li><li>Elementary Education, K/1-6 </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in current numeracy theory and effective </li><li>mathematical/teaching practices </li><li>A thorough knowledge of best practices and standards, including the district's curricula </li><li>and the Common Core State Standards, Eureka Math, and/or computer based programs </li><li>such as IXL, Freckle, and/or Khan Academy </li><li>Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, time management, organizational abilities </li><li>and communication skills, both orally and written </li><li>Demonstrated ability to use technology as communication and teaching tools </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education or the </li><li>Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable </li><li>Terms of Employment </li><li>Compensation for this position is $18 to $25.00/hour depending on Education and Experience.
