<p>Piper Companies is seeking an Azure Consultant to support a leading industrial manufacturing organization with a complex Azure-based IoT and data environment. The Azure Consultant will operate in a consultative capacity, assessing current cloud architecture and providing expert recommendations to optimize Azure infrastructure, IoT telemetry flows, and data platforms.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Azure Consultant:</p> <ul> <li>Assess existing multi-region Azure infrastructure, including IoT, telemetry, and data ingestion workflows. </li><li>Review Azure Data Lake and repository structures, recommending improvements for performance and scalability. </li><li>Evaluate and optimize MQTT-based messaging and the transition from REST APIs for telemetry workloads. </li><li>Analyze IoT Edge and Edge Server environments that send industrial machine data and images to the cloud. </li><li>Provide architectural guidance on resilience, remote visibility for customer equipment, and related billing workflows. </li><li>Collaborate with internal teams to deliver clear recommendations, roadmaps, and Azure best practices. </li></ul> <p>Requirements of the Azure Consultant:</p> <ul> <li>7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in architecture and infrastructure-focused roles. </li><li>Strong background with Azure IoT Hub, IoT Edge, MQTT, and telemetry-driven solutions. </li><li>Experience with Azure Data Lake, large-scale data ingestion, and multi-region cloud deployments. </li><li>Familiarity with Azure Fabric or similar distributed application platforms (preferred). </li><li>Understanding of cloud security, monitoring, and cost optimization. </li><li>Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate in an advisory/consultative capacity. </li></ul> <p>Compensation for the Azure Consultant:</p> <ul> <li>$100.00 - $125.00 per hour </li><li>Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law. </li></ul> <p>Keywords: Azure consultant, Azure infrastructure, Azure architecture, Azure IoT Hub, IoT Edge, industrial IoT, MQTT, telemetry, Azure Data Lake, multi-region Azure, cloud optimization, Azure Fabric, distributed systems, edge computing, remote equipment monitoring</p> <p>This job opens for applications on 2/27/2026.
