If you leave your computer and return later, you may time out.</p> <p>REMINDER: Current DCSD employees must apply through their district log-on, this application is for external candidates only!</p> <p>Job Posting Title:</p> <p>Summer Camp Cabin Counselor - Stone Canyon (Seasonal 2026)</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Provides active supervision and facilitation in a residential setting to children aged 8-15. Responsible for the supervision of 14 campers in residential bunks. Facilitates recreational activities and leadership programming to groups of 12 campers. Collaborates with Stone Canyon Administration and Head Staff to provide an excellent camp experience for all campers. Creates meaningful connections with all campers. Facilitates cohesiveness and bonding between campers in the residential setting. Counselors are expected to stay in cabin overnight for the duration of the camp session. Essential Physical Requirements: • Occasional lifting twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds • Occasional lifting of fifty (50) to one hundred (100) pounds • Frequent bending, stooping, walking, climbing and kneeling • Must be able to hike up and down hills on a daily basis at high elevation. • Must be able to work and teach in inclement weather including, but not limited to heat, snow, rain and sleet.</p> <p>Position Specific Information (if Applicable):</p> <p>This seasonal position will run from 5/25/26 - 7/24/26</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Communicate all camper concerns (behavior, health, emotional) to Assistant Director with proper documentation if needed.</p> <p>Manage campers' behavior at all times.</p> <p>Support kitchen staff and supervise campers during meal times.</p> <p>Supervise groups of 10 campers during the meal times</p> <p>Lead songs and group games.</p> <p>Supervise groups of 14 campers in residential dorms. This includes staying in cabin overnight for the duration of the session.</p> <p>Plan, prepare and facilitate 60-90 minute recreational activities.</p> <p>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers in the summer camp program, and relate with visiting clients as needed.</p> <p>Perform other duties as assigned or requested.</p> <p>Ensure campers are prepared for the daily activities.</p> <p>Inform Assistant Director of any program materials that need to be purchased.</p> <p>Assist in daily site upkeep (general cleaning of residential and program areas).</p> <p>Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all campers.</p> <p>Certifications:</p> <p>CPR/First Aid - Red Cross</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>High School or Equivalent</p> <p>Skills:</p> <p>Must be a minimum of 18 years old., Must be available for all four sessions (June 18-June 16), One year working with children ages 8-17 (coaching, volunteering, teaching), Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions, ?Easily approachable, able to have fun with kids, laugh at yourself and be silly! ?Communicate effectively with administration for all questions and concerns ?Able to learn and execute the lessons/activities in the leadership curriculum. ?Strong organizational and time management skills ?Collaborative team player</p> <p>Position Type:</p> <p>Seasonal</p> <p>Primary Location:</p> <p>Outdoor Education Center</p> <p>One Year Only (Yes or No):</p> <p>No</p> <p>Scheduled Hours Per Week:</p> <p>40</p> <p>FTE:</p> <p>1.00</p> <p>Approx Scheduled Days Per Year:</p> <p>0 Work Days</p> <ul> <li>(260 days indicates a year-round position.
