<p>Camp JCC Madrichim (counselors) are positive role models who supervise and engage campers, plan activities, and work as part of a team with a positive attitude, flexibility, and energy throughout each day.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Protect the health and safety (emotional and physical) of all campers </li><li>Provide experiences that promote individual and group growth </li><li>Actively participate in all aspects of the camp experience with the campers </li><li>Serve as a role model for young children while emphasizing Jewish values </li><li>Follow the assigned work schedule and specific camp group schedule </li><li>Plan and lead activities for group times, transition times, and other programs as determined by supervisor(s) </li><li>Participate in all camper activities and interact with the campers during these activities </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s) </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>At least a rising Junior in High School </li><li>Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting. Desire and ability to work with children and teens </li><li>Ability to relate to one's peer group </li><li>Ability to accept supervision and guidance </li><li>CPR, First Aid and AED certifications are required. There may be an opportunity to get these certificates in a pre-camp training </li><li>Must possess integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, patience, thoughtfulness, and self-control </li><li>Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, and sportsmanship </li><li>Positive, "can do" attitude which is demonstrated by a willingness to pitch in and help wherever needed as well as an ability to anticipate what is needed </li><li>Must be physically able to work outdoors in different weather conditions, including heat. </li></ul> <p>WORK SCHEDULE:</p> <p>Applicant must be available to work Monday through Friday, June 8 through August 14 (8 weeks of camp plus staff week) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.</p>
