<p>JOB INFORMATION</p> <p>The SAS Proctor will play an essential role in the administration of various tests while assisting the Operations Coordinator in the day-to-day functions of the Student Accessibility Services office. The primary focus will be placed on test proctoring and customer service duties. A strong ability to communicate clearly, multi-task, and maintain confidentiality is required for this position.</p> <p>This is a part-time hourly pool. Applications are collected for possible immediate, or future college vacancies. This type of employment is temporary and often sporadic. Any documents you provide that are not listed will not been seen by the Search Committee.</p> <ul> <li>Resume </li><li>Cover Letter </li></ul> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Provides professional and friendly customer service to students, faculty, staff and community members </li><li>Maintains a high level of confidentiality at all times </li><li>Administers and serves as proctor for internet-based, computer-based and paper tests </li><li>Follow examinee admission requirements for identification and documentation as fulfillment of vendor and instructor requirements </li><li>Administer test in areas requiring special certifications (such as Pearson Vue, CLEP, and ASE) </li><li>Maintains appropriate test conditions, security regulations and procedures for tests, files, and records by direct observation or monitoring security cameras </li><li>Draft and provide supervisor with incident and irregularity reports as needed for Chemeketa and exam vendors </li><li>Works effectively both independently and collaboratively as a contributing team member in delivery of quality services </li><li>Utilizes appropriate college and vendor software and database applications as directed </li><li>Follows all established policies and procedures as determined by supervisor </li><li>Ensures high level of test security in compliance with rules and regulations of external exam vendors, standardized proctoring protocols and procedures for securing tests, files, and records </li><li>Maintains certifications for external testing agencies </li><li>Adheres to department policies and procedures while maintaining test integrity </li><li>Gathers confidential information including accommodated tests in compliance with Title II of the ADA, section 504 Rehabilitation Act, and best practices </li><li>Performs In-Class assistant duties to support student accommodation needs including lab, lecture, and field trips as assigned to reduce barriers to student success </li><li>Attends and participates meetings, in-service, and training as needed </li><li>Communicate effectively via phone and email, schedule appointments, update staff and general calendars </li><li>Enter information into department databases with accuracy and in compliance with established procedures </li></ul> <p>Institutional Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff and the public from diverse cultural, social, economic and educational backgrounds </li><li>Participates in recruitment and retention of students at an individual and institutional level in promotion of student success </li><li>Embraces, understands and uses appropriate technology tools to accomplish job functions </li><li>Provides high quality, effective service to internal and external customers through continuous improvement and adoption of lean office practices </li></ul> <p>CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Your application will be scored based on the minimum qualifications, core competencies, and preferred qualifications. If you are unsure whether you meet all of the qualifications listed below, we encourage you to apply and address through your application materials all of the relevant education, transferable skills, and related experience that makes you a great candidate for this position.Please ensure you include all information on your application which you wish to be considered.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>High School Diploma/GED</p> <ul> <li>AND- </li></ul> <p>One year of experience working with the public</p> <ul> <li>AND- </li></ul> <p>Basic Computer Skills</p> <ul> <li>If hired, employee must be certified as a proctor for required external exam vendors within three months of hire. </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Ability to facilitate people in group settings </li><li>Ability to follow and give directions precisely and clearly </li><li>Competency in record keeping and handling confidential materials </li><li>Ability to work flexible hours, independently, at various locations, with absolute reliability </li><li>Effective organizational skills </li><li>Experience with detail work or record keeping </li><li>Experience providing good customer service in person, written communication and over the phone </li><li>Excellent communication skills both oral and written </li><li>Attention to detail and extreme accuracy when performing tasks </li><li>Analytic ability </li><li>Ability to follow precise policies and procedures </li><li>Ability to trouble shoot and correct problems </li><li>Knowledgeable about special accessibility equipment and software needed to fulfill testing accommodations </li><li>Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience as a test proctor or examiner </li><li>Experience in a community college setting </li><li>Experience with advanced customer service principles and effective communication </li><li>Experience using both Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps </li><li>Experience working with at risk students </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT</p> <ul> <li>Part-time hourly positions will not exceed 900 working hours per fiscal year </li><li>Certified as a proctor for required external exam vendors within three months of hire </li><li>All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college. </li><li>Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends </li><li>This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations </li><li>If requested, you must supply official transcripts within 30-days of hire </li><li>Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment. </li><li>Successful applicants for designated positions must successfully pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. An individual with negative information on their background inquiry will not necessarily be denied employment. </li><li>Providing false information will result in rejection of an application, employment offer or dismissal </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Sedentary Work:Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
