<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Streets/Storm Sewer Worker performs skilled and semi-skilled labor in the construction, maintenance, and repair of municipal streets, sidewalks, curbs, storm sewer systems, and related infrastructure. This position involves fieldwork under varying weather conditions, operation of specialized tools and equipment, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations. Work is performed under general supervision and may require being on call for emergencies.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities/Duties</p> <ul> <li>Repair and maintain streets, alleys, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. </li><li>Patch potholes, seal cracks, and apply asphalt or concrete. </li><li>Install and maintain street signs, pavement markings, and traffic control devices. </li><li>Clear snow, ice, and debris from streets and public areas. </li><li>Mowing, trimming and debris removal in City right of way and property. </li><li>Install, inspect, and repair storm sewer pipes, inlets, catch basins, and manholes. </li><li>Set up traffic control devices and follow safety procedures during work operations. </li><li>Clean and flush storm sewer lines to prevent blockages. </li><li>Inspect drainage systems to ensure proper flow and compliance with regulations. </li><li>Respond to flooding or drainage-related service calls. </li><li>Operate trucks, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and other light-to-heavy equipment. </li><li>Use hand tools, pumps, saws, and other specialized equipment. • Follow OSHA, state, and local safety regulations. </li><li>Work in confined spaces and trenches in accordance with safety procedures. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. </li><li>Respond to service requests and emergencies in a professional and timely manner. </li><li>Communicate effectively with residents, contractors, and team members. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent (GED). </li><li>Valid driver's license; CDL preferred or ability to obtain within probationary period. </li><li>Experience in street or storm sewer maintenance/construction preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of street repair, drainage systems, tools, equipment, and safety procedures. </li><li>Ability to read maps, blueprints, and work orders. </li><li>Physical ability to perform heavy labor under various weather conditions.
