<p>Apogee Architectural Metals</p> <p>Job Overview</p> <p>Tool & Die Maker Apprenticeship is a two-year program combining full-time on-the-job training with required classroom instruction. Apprentices develop skills in AutoCAD, Office Suite, tool design and build capabilities and die sharpening.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Step 1: Start the Apprenticeship Program</p> <p>Step 2: Entry Level 0-6 Months</p> <ul> <li>Basic Navigation of AutoCAD Tool Bars and Basic Commands </li><li>Understand and use of orthographic projection and drawing interpretation. </li><li>Demonstrate functional use of email and calendar </li><li>Butt mill geometry, stacking and maintenance </li><li>CNC Machine blocking </li></ul> <p>Step 3: 6-12 Months</p> <ul> <li>Ability to bring details and parts into AutoCAD using hunt command. </li><li>Ability to create Excel workbook and use simple functions </li><li>Complete work assigned on time with timely communication with leaders </li><li>Proficient use of mills/lathe/grinders/heat treat ovens and other basic tool room equipment. </li><li>Punch/form die disassembly and troubleshooting, sharpening and basic repair. </li></ul> <p>Step 4: 12-18 Months</p> <ul> <li>Use of AutoCAD to create design, details and dimensioned drawings for records </li><li>Ability to use search engine for research, navigate to relevant sites and effectively retrieve information needed for projects </li><li>Understand tooling design and clearances of dies. </li></ul> <p>Step 5: Year 2</p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in reviewing design issues and developing execution strategy </li><li>Completion all required technical coursework </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Qualifications</p> <p>Essential Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures). </li><li>Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.). </li><li>Ability to follow blueprints. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. </li><li>Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry). </li></ul> <p>Core Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Safety - Satisfactory </li><li>Technical Knowledge - Satisfactory </li><li>Quality of Work - Satisfactory </li><li>Communication - Satisfactory </li><li>Critical Thinking - Satisfactory </li><li>Dependability - Satisfactory </li><li>Teamwork - Strong </li><li>Adaptability & Flexibility - Satisfactory </li></ul> <p>Performance Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Comprehend and follow instructions. </li><li>Perform assigned tasks. </li><li>Maintain an appropriate work pace. </li><li>Maintain accuracy in work completed. </li><li>Support continuous work culture. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>The position is based in a manufacturing facility, which may involve exposure to loud noises, varying temperatures, and dust from production processes. </li><li>Associates will frequently work near or with machinery with moving parts, following strict safety protocols. </li><li>The facility operates on shift schedules with potential for overtime, including weekends, based on production needs. </li><li>This environment emphasizes team collaboration and adherence to safety regulations to ensure the well-being of all associates. </li></ul> <p>Our Benefits</p> <p>We care about and invest in our employees.
