Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Sr. Principal Engineer Quality to support the Quality and Mission Assurance team located in Salt Lake City, UT.</p> <p>What you'll get to do:</p> <ul> <li>Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished product. </li><li>Assesses program performance and risks related to quality requirements to ensure contractual requirements are met. </li><li>Review and assess contractual requirements for applicability. </li><li>Perform cost account management-related activities on programs supporting. </li><li>Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with customers. </li><li>Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions to ensure quality standards are in place and met. </li><li>Support program gate reviews as required. </li><li>Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. </li><li>Work from engineering drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists to ensure items meet required specifications and quality standards. </li><li>Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering personnel to identify the root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented. </li><li>Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements. </li><li>Applies technical knowledge in industry-standard quality engineering methods, interpretation of drawing requirements and applicable specifications & standards, and mechanical measurement & analysis. </li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. </li></ul> <p>Ideal candidate must have critical thinking skills and be able to communicate written and verbally, and must have the ability to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with stakeholders and customers at all levels, ranging from conversations on the shop floor to briefing senior management.</p> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM field with 8 years of experience; 6 years of experience with Masters; 3 years of experience with PhD. </li><li>Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.). </li><li>Risk management principles and contractual requirement review experience. </li><li>US Citizenship Required with the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) </li><li>Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and concepts. </li><li>Experience in design and/or manufacturing of electromechanical, and/or soldering certification. </li><li>IPC certification and/or electronic experience. </li><li>Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) experience. </li><li>Experience with application of industry-standard statistical methods, including implementation of statistical analysis software applications (e.g., Minitab). </li><li>Experience maintaining positive supplier relationships, including successful resolution of supplier quality challenges. </li><li>Active DoD Secret Clearance. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $107,800.00 - $161,800.00</p> <p>The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.</p> <p>Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
