<p>The MRI Safety Officer (MRSO) operates with full responsibility for training, developing, and directing the MR safety program. Duties include coordination of MR safety committee meetings, evaluation of hospital equipment to ensure MR safe operation, and oversight of employee and patient MR screening programs. Coordinates training of hospital staff and ensures staff and patient education objectives are met.</p> <p>Major duties include but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Schedules exams in a manner to optimize all the radiographic equipment including the MR scanner times while maintaining a flexibility to allow for emergency cases. </li><li>Confers with radiologists to determine requirements of non-standard exams. </li><li>Determines technical factors, positioning, number, and thickness of scans, etc., to produce and satisfy requirements of MRI scanning. </li><li>Assists with scheduling patients for examinations. </li><li>Notifies Radiologists and providers of scans requiring their immediate attention. </li><li>Prepares contrast materials that are used in MRI and general exams. </li><li>responsible for the practice the safety, policies and procedures of the medical center and participate in quality assurance activities as directed. </li><li>Scans records of exams performed on patients in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). </li><li>Annual MRI screening and training programs for staff meet required metrics. </li><li>Assists and trains less experienced technologist and radiology students. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Tour of duty may vary based on facility needs; 7:30am to 5:00pm</p> <p>Telework: Not Authorized</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p> <p>Functional Statement #: 40946-0</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p>
