<p>Monday - Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm 4 Positions</p> <p>Reports to: Various Supervisors</p> <p>Hourly Wage: $17.00</p> <p>NATURE OF WORK</p> <p>Assist the Water Division in the inspection, layout and measurement, and observation of water main replacement projects and lead service line replacement projects; GIS data collection; lead service line data collection; as well as assist in the City's Water Production Section (well and facility engineering) and Environmental Laboratory.</p> <p>DISTINGUISHING FEATURES</p> <p>Work involves exposure to construction plans and specifications, inspecting construction projects within active construction work environments, working within water production facilities, and general labor such as hand shoveling, lifting, and cleaning. Work also involves data entry into various software programs.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These essential duties are only illustrative.)</p> <p>Collection of data in the field and entering of that data into various database systems.</p> <p>Assist in field survey for the design of water main and water service projects.</p> <p>Construction layout and inspection.</p> <p>Measurement and documentation of construction items.</p> <p>Assist in right-of-way and water main inspection for permit compliance.</p> <p>Maintain reasonable and predictable attendance.</p> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED</p> <p>Work is performed under the direction of the Water Superintendent or their designee. The employee must be capable of prioritizing a variety of duties and communicate effectively with the other employees in the Water Division. Work is reviewed through observation of work performance and adherence to policies and procedures.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>Work is performed in an engineering office and outdoors at various construction sites and well sites throughout the city. The work frequently requires an employee to work around moving vehicles and construction equipment. Work exposes employee to traffic, noise, vehicle exhaust fumes, dust, dirt, and weather extremes.
