<p>Description</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Responsible for tasks in relation to ensuring the facility is kept neat and clean, both inside and on outer grounds. Reports deficiencies, including required maintenance for building, racking, shelving and equipment, to management. Expected to be able to perform all aspects of the job as described below. This position is for the day shift with hours 8:00am-4:30pm.</p> <p>Areas of Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Keep aisles and work areas clear and free of debris, spills, shrink wrap, boxes, etc. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness standards of breakroom and restroom areas. </li><li>Maintain health of MHE batteries including watering, cleaning, charging & equalizing, and specific gravity testing. </li><li>Meet production, quality, and accuracy levels as established by business unit. Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment. </li><li>Able to work independently. </li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Dispose of trash and recyclable materials (i.e., cardboard) in compactor or baler. Routinely check and monitor waste bins to keep under control. </li><li>Operate floor scrubber to clean facility walkways and work areas. </li><li>Safely manage the day-to-day maintenance of the MHE batteries through regularly scheduled waterings and cleanings, charging and equalizing as needed, and testing specific gravity monthly. </li><li>Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work extended hours, as required by operational needs. </li><li>Flexibility to work in other areas and departments, as needed. Must be able to cross train in other departmental areas. </li><li>Maintain a clean workplace to avoid tripping hazards or other accidents. Follow all food safety policies and procedures including performing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments and related activities as directed. </li><li>Promote a safe work environment by following facility and company safety guidelines. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with manager and co-workers. Ability to comprehend and carryout simple instructions. Safely operate and become certified in use of electric pallet jack, walk-rider, forklift, floor scrubber and/or other required equipment. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>1 or more years related cleaning or sanitation experience, required. </li><li>Previous forklift certification, preferred. </li><li>Ability to count and perform basic math. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, and able to stand and walk for long periods of time. </li><li>Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>The warehouse is a non-climate-controlled facility. The outside temperature generally reflects the inside temperature with little air circulation.
