<p>Job Description:</p> <p>If interested, please apply at https://www.applitrack.com/isaacschool/onlineapp/</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST</p> <p>General Scope of Responsibility</p> <p>Responsible for planning and implementing psycho-educational assessments, counseling and behavioral and educational strategies for assigned students; and for providing ongoing communication and consultation to program staff, parents, other clinicians and outside agencies.</p> <p>Relationship Within the Organization</p> <p>The School Psychologist is directly responsible to the Director of Special Education.</p> <p>Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Screen and evaluate referred students including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations, and writing reports which state the evaluation findings and provide for educational program recommendations. </li><li>Conduct risk assessments and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in collaboration with other team members as needed. </li><li>Provide individual and group services to students that emphasize improved educational performance and/or conduct. </li><li>Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and contribute evaluation findings on a student's educational plan. </li><li>Provide collaborative consultation and documentation of results including assisting staff with suggestions and implementation of pre-referral intervention strategies and modifications to assist staff in working with students in the classroom setting. </li><li>Provide crisis intervention as needed. </li><li>Consult with parents, teachers, and other appropriate staff regarding the student's progress and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home. </li><li>Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents. </li><li>Maintain appropriate data on students to document current levels of performance and other pertinent information. Re-evaluate, as appropriate, to determine extent of progress and effectiveness of therapy. </li><li>Establish and monitor the necessary caseloads, procedures, and resources to manage services to students and staff. </li><li>Coordinate with teachers, support staff, and the leadership team to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs, including students with special needs </li><li>Coordinate with outside agencies, organizations and institutions, including state and federal authorities as needed. </li><li>Adhere to the ethical standards and codes of the profession and to the established rules, regulations, and laws governing special education programs. </li><li>Participate in activities that promote professional development and use clinical/educational research to enhance therapy services. </li><li>Models professional and ethical practices and behaviors in all activities. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>CT Certification Required as a School Psychologist (#070) </li><li>Experience with middle school students preferred. </li><li>Bilingual (Spanish) a plus. </li><li>Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university </li></ul> <p>ISAAC is an equal-opportunity employer.
