Our hotel is nestled along the beautiful banks of the San Antonio Riverwalk, as well as steps away from beautiful historical landmarks in the downtown area.</p> <p>Your day to day</p> <p>Great hotel memories come from many places. The sights, sounds, scents and, importantly, room service. As a Room Service Server, you'll recommend food and drink and help deliver food and service that is up to standard. By tailoring each guest's experience to their unique tastes, you'll create memories as delightful as the dishes.</p> <ul> <li>Delivers and serves food and beverages to hotel guest's room; set up and serve the order according to specifications and standards. </li><li>Complete guest payment transactions as outlined in cash and charge procedures. </li><li>Describe all menu items; methods of preparation and prices as needed. Work within policy to accommodate guest's special food requests. </li><li>Performs set-up and closing side-work; stock service station, make coffee, etc. Preset trays as necessary; prepare flatware "roll-ups". </li><li>May answer room service phones and record orders; utilize up-selling techniques to increase sales. </li><li>May assist with other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>What we need from you</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Basic reading, writing and math skills and food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations. Must be fluent in local language, fluency in other languages preferred.</p> <p>This job requires the ability to perform the following:</p> <ul> <li>Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds </li><li>Moving about the outlet(s) and climbing stairs. </li><li>Handling objects and products </li><li>Bending, stooping, kneeling </li></ul> <p>Other:</p> <ul> <li>Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with customers and employees </li><li>Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork, scheduling, and giving and receiving instructions. </li><li>Mathematical skills, including basic math, cash handling, are utilized frequently. </li><li>Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often. </li><li>Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency. </li><li>May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays </li></ul> <p>The statements in this job description are intended to describe the essential nature and level of work being performed.
