<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Pomfret Community School is a dynamic, inclusive Pre-K through Grade 8 learning community committed to the academic, social, and emotional development of every student. We foster a nurturing environment where children grow to become confident communicators, creative thinkers, and compassionate citizens.</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>We are seeking a passionate, collaborative, and skilled Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students' communication needs across grades PreK-8. The SLP will provide direct services, consultation, and evaluation to students with speech and language challenges that impact academic achievement and social-emotional development.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and assessments in accordance with state and federal regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with speech and language impairments.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and/or group settings.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other school staff to support student success.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in IEP team meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate goals and accommodations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of services and student progress.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide support and training to staff and families to enhance understanding and strategies for speech/language development.</p> </li><li> <p>Stay current with best practices and legal mandates in the field of speech-language pathology and special education.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.</p> </li><li> <p>Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working in school settings or with school-age children strongly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and evidence-based intervention strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>Salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications.</p> <p>How to Apply:</p> <p>Please send a cover letter, resume, licensure documentation, and contact information for three professional references to:</p> <p>Susan Imschweiler, Principal</p> <p>Pomfret Community School</p> <p>20 Pomfret Street</p> <p>Pomfret Center, CT 06259</p> <p>imschweier.s@pomfretcommunityschool.org</p> <p>Pomfret BOE is an EOE.</p>
