<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Lead classroom teacher as required by the state of Louisiana</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>The lead teacher is responsible for supervising other adults employed in the classroom and university students completing course work in the classroom. </li><li>The lead teacher may be asked to serve as staff in-charge of the center if the director is out of the building. </li><li>The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a program to teach young children including stablishing routines. </li><li>They must ensure the development and safety of these children in accordance with relevant federal, territorial and municipal legislation and policies. </li><li>The Lead Teacher will be respectful of children and parents, and ensure that equipment and facilities are clean, safe and well maintained. </li><li>Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand. </li><li>Observe children and document development in the appropriate manner. </li><li>Integrate special needs children in a positive and respectful manner. </li><li>Discuss children's development with parents </li><li>Participate in training as required by the state and university </li><li>Perform other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Child Development Associate (CDA with Ancillary Certificate or </li><li>Associate of Science Degree in Child Development of related field or </li><li>Bachelor of Science in Child Development or related field. </li><li>Minimum 3 years documented experience (any combination from child care, public school lead, Head Start etc.) </li></ul>
