<p>Essential Duties</p> <ol> <li>Performs specialized testing procedures appropriate to specialty ultrasonography in radiology. 2. Reviews patient's chart, patient's condition and physician's orders to plan and determine method of testing. 3. Positions patients; Sets up, operates and maintains equipment to conduct tests and procedures. Provides information to patients concerning specific tests and procedures. 4. Processes films and duplicate films. 5. Instructs and acts as a source of information on testing techniques, procedures and equipment operation. 6. Assists in radiology/ultrasound exams as directed by the radiologist. 7. Assists management in upgrading equipment. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies. Maintains disposable inventory per department protocol regarding date of use/disposal. 8. Acts as a liaison with repair personnel. 9. Assists in budget development as requested. 10. May perform other duties as assigned. </li></ol> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <p>Six years of related experience; four of them in the same job family at the next lower level and a high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's Degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.</p> <p>Background Check Requirements</p> <p>All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which may include motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing and credit checks based on the position description and job requirements. It is a 144,000 square foot medical facility with over 90 exam rooms, an Acute Care Department, a 15-bed inpatient facility with two negative pressure rooms, a diagnostic imaging suite including MR and CT scan, x-ray and ultrasound and a full-service retail pharmacy.</p> <p>As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Department Team, assist in providing coordinated and compassionate care at every patient encounter at Yale Health. Responsibilities include perform specialized testing procedures appropriate to specialty (ultrasonography) in Diagnostic Imaging. Review patient's chart, patient's condition and physician's orders to plan and determine method of testing. Position patients. Set up, operate and maintain equipment to conduct tests and procedures. Provide information to patients concerning specific tests and procedures.</p> <p>Perform high level disinfection of u/s probes at the department level. Instruct and act as a source of information on testing techniques, procedures and equipment operation. Assist patients when necessary to dress/undress for exams, or in transfers to/from wheelchair, stretcher, exam tables, etc. Assist in Diagnostic Imaging/ultrasound exams as directed by the radiologist. Maintain strict patient confidentiality. Act as a liaison with repair personnel. Order and maintain inventory of supplies. Maintain disposable inventory per department protocol regarding date of use/disposal. Perform additional functions related to clinical as needed.</p> <p>Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:</p> <p>Knowledge of Cannon Ultrasound equipment.
