<p>The City of Savannah Fleet Services Department is looking for an energetic, forward-thinking individual to join our team as a Radio Systems Technician I. This position maintains radio and other electronic equipment used by police, fire, and other city departments in buildings and vehicles. Equipment includes but is not limited to Mobile and Portable radios, Electronic Sirens, Control Station Radios, Electronic Warning Lights, Miscellaneous Vehicle mounted electronic equipment, Desktop and Notebook PCs. </li><li>Maintains federally mandated radio service records. </li><li>Installs and maintains mobile data systems in public safety vehicles. </li><li>Installs, repairs, and maintains video monitors and video data recorders. </li><li>Assists with the Installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of water and sewer SCADA system equipment.; </li><li>Inventories, orders, and stocks repair parts, shop consumables, and shop supplies. </li><li>Cleans, tests, repairs and store surplus emergency lights, sirens, computer docking station and other equipment. </li><li>Completes work orders and required reports. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>High school diploma plus two (2) year vocational degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent military training; with one (1) year of experience repairing and maintaining Motorola Smartzone 800 MHz, trunked radio equipment and two way radio installation; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.</p> <p>Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.</p> <p>Work Schedule: M-F 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM</p> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <p>Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of AC/DC theory and basic electronic theory. </li><li>Knowledge of RF theory. </li><li>Knowledge of computer programs and databases. </li><li>Basic skill in the maintenance of computer networks. </li><li>Skill in the use of hand and power tools. </li><li>Basic skill in compiling and analyzing data. </li><li>Skill in performing mathematical calculations up to and including Trigonometry. </li><li>Skill in operating standard office equipment. </li><li>Skill in oral and written communication. </li></ul>
