Full Time Shift Day Work Schedule Summary</p> <p>M - F, 9am to 5pm</p> <p>VP Area President Department 00429 - University Print & Mail Srvs. Location Campus City Salt Lake City, UT Type of Recruitment External Posting Pay Rate Range $16.83 - $21.29/h DOE Close Date 07/22/2025 Priority Review Date (Note - Posting may close at any time) Job Summary</p> <p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual with wide format printing experience to join our Media Solutions team. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining several of our printers and finishing machines as well as setting up files using the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and RIP software. This is an active role with a considerable amount of moving large and sometimes heavy sheets or rolls of material weighing up to 50lbs. Our Media Solutions department produces a broad variety of products, including stickers, banners, posters, acrylic signs, aluminum prints, custom signs, and more, which makes organization, problem solving, and the ability to multitask key.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Operate and maintain flatbed UV printer, flatbed CNC, latex roll printer, aqueous roll printer, roll laminator, plotter, and more depending on the order volume and need. </li><li>Set up and proof files using RIP software, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop </li><li>Inspect and adjust print settings for clarity, color accuracy, and quality </li><li>Read and understand job ticket information </li><li>Communicate with supervisor and customer service team to understand priorities, print requirements, and provide recommendations </li><li>Schedule and organize jobs so they are produced quickly and efficiently </li><li>Troubleshoot and address minor equipment issues </li><li>Use graphic tools and chemicals to safely fabricate products </li><li>Provide quality control for wide format projects </li><li>Package finished jobs, hand off to delivery in a timely manner </li><li>Maintain inventory, ink levels, and tool condition </li><li>Maintain machine logs and document work performed </li><li>Maintain clean and organized work area </li><li>Assist other operators, prepress, installers, and other areas when needed or slow </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Preferences</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent (a degree or certification in graphic arts, printing technology, or a related field is a plus). </li><li>2 years printing industry experience in wide format printing and finishing or prepress </li><li>UV flatbed printer experience </li><li>Flatbed router/CNC experience </li><li>Roll Printer experience (aqueous, latex, UV) </li><li>Plotter/cutter experience </li><li>Proficient with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop </li><li>Familiarity with RIP software and other print-related software tools </li><li>Ability to work with a variety of substrates & understand unique printing requirements for each </li><li>Experience fabricating signs </li><li>Experience working with spot colors and spot printing </li><li>Regularly lift 15 lbs., and periodically be able to lift 75 lbs. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively </li><li>Ability to work independently and safely </li><li>Able to multitask well and remain organized in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards </li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines </li><li>Experience in other areas of printing such as screen printing, dye sublimation, laser engraving, roll to roll printing, plotter operation, DTG printing, lamination, etc. is a plus </li></ul> <p>Type Benefited Staff Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
