We believe our employees should take pride in the work they accomplish while truly respecting a collaborative work environment.</p> <p>Under general supervision of the Adult Probation Division, performs work of moderate difficulty. Observes and administers drug testing measures to monitor illegal use of alcohol or drugs; using manual methods to detect selected drugs, interpret results, document information and maintaining chain of custody integrity.</p> <p>Additionally, perform moderately complex work related to basic administrative and general office duties, including customer service functions, providing clerical support and training for the office. Spanish speaking is preferred, but not required.</p> <p>Hours of Work</p> <ul> <li>Full-time 40 hours a week; 8:00 amt o 5:00 pm. </li><li>Possible 2 evenings a month from 9:30am to 6:30pm. </li><li>Schedules vary depending on the needs of the department. </li><li>Observe urine testing of same sex clients </li><li>Administer and observe other methods of testing (oral, sweat patch) </li><li>Manually administering the methods for testing </li><li>Properly securing and labeling samples </li><li>Prepare written reports and maintain evidence regarding possible tampering situations </li><li>Analyzing and documented interpreting test results in Adult Probation case management system </li><li>Communication with probation officers regarding results. </li><li>Strictly adhere to chain of custody procedures </li><li>Adhere to confidentiality requirements and control procedures </li><li>Provide testimony in Court Proceedings </li><li>Assist with coordination of County Car maintenance </li><li>Maintain the file storage room and scanning of closed files </li><li>Act as backup for the front desk and assist with clerical functions </li><li>Transportation of samples to the coroner's office </li><li>Proficient in data entry </li><li>Proficient in excel and word </li><li>Assist customers/clients with basic and complex questions over the phone and/orin person </li><li>Route phone calls to appropriate personnel or department, return calls and take messages as needed </li><li>Refer clients to appropriate Probation Officer </li><li>Communication with Probation Officers regarding clients reporting </li><li>Process in coming/out going correspondence/mail and distribute correspondence/mail to appropriate person </li><li>Open and close building as scheduled </li><li>Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others and/or for occasional enforcement of the standards of public safety or health </li><li>Special projects as assigned by Office Manager </li><li>Assist in training new staff </li><li>Knowledge of Drug testing techniques, drugs of abuse, and attempts to defraud drug tests. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Accurate record keeping and proficient report writing </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality </li><li>Ability to follow established chain of custody procedures </li><li>County policies and procedures. </li><li>Interpersonal skills to work with co-workers, clients and the general public </li><li>Knowledge of computer software programs i.e. word processing, spread sheets, custom application and office machines </li><li>Knowledge of general office work </li><li>Ability to follow directions </li><li>Ability to multitask </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Work Experience Requirements (Ed and/or Other Requirements)</p> <ul> <li>High School education </li><li>Up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of standing </li><li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer </li><li>Must be able to lift 10 lbs. </li></ul> <p>Supplemental Information</p> <p>Lake County offers a competitive salary and benefit package.
