Our more than 4,000 diverse, passionately committed team members in New York City and around the world work collectively to achieve our conservation mission.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>To direct and perform work consisting of tasks of a varied nature necessary to the operation, facilities and services of the Society.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Attend, clean, guard or patrol an assigned area or public building, property, structures and or gates in or adjoining the zoological park to keep order and cleanliness. </li><li>Assist in allocation of work assignments. </li><li>May inventory, order, pick-up and allocate supplies. </li><li>Protect society property by properly securing and locking various buildings, stations or gates. </li><li>Perform ground maintenance work including helping with landscaping, gardening, etc. </li><li>Offer aid, help and directions and information to the public. </li><li>Perform custodial duties where required. </li><li>Assist in the cleaning of areas other than those assigned as conditions may require. </li><li>Enforce the Society's visitor rules and regulations and those of the Department of Parks of the City of New York. </li><li>Perform related tasks and duties as required. </li></ul>
