Position Overview: The Palliative Care Physician will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused care to individuals with serious, life-limiting illnesses. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive palliative care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert palliative care consultations and follow-up care to patients in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and chaplains, to develop and implement individualized care plans. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations. Manage complex symptoms, including pain, nausea, and respiratory distress, to improve the quality of life for patients. Facilitate discussions with patients and families regarding prognosis, goals of care, and advance care planning. Educate and support healthcare providers, patients, and families about palliative care principles and practices. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and educational activities to advance the field of palliative care. Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school. Board certification or eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Valid state medical license. Demonstrated expertise in palliative care, pain management, and symptom control. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
