We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Specimen Processor to join our dynamic Laboratory Services team.</p> <p>Main Function:</p> <p>The Specimen Processor plays a vital role in supporting both clerical and clinical operations within the Laboratory Services department. This role includes the processing of patient specimens and reports, as well as performing phlebotomy duties across multiple settings including:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Griffin Hospital</p> </li><li> <p>Offsite blood drawing stations</p> </li><li> <p>Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs)</p> </li><li> <p>Assisted living facilities</p> </li><li> <p>Home visitations</p> </li></ul> <p>Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Drawing blood specimens from patients (venous and capillary)</p> </li><li> <p>Ordering laboratory tests and registering patients</p> </li><li> <p>Handling specimen processing and ensuring accurate documentation</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizing laboratory and hospital information systems (LIS/HIS)</p> </li><li> <p>Providing exceptional service to patients and healthcare staff</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required</p> </li><li> <p>Graduate of a recognized Medical Assisting program and/or certified phlebotomy program</p> </li><li> <p>Must hold a current National Phlebotomy Certification</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience required</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in specimen processing strongly preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with LIS/HIS systems preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Word and email communication required</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Competencies:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and as part of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy</p> </li><li> <p>Flexibility to travel to offsite locations</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Join Griffin Health?</p> <p>Griffin Health offers a supportive and innovative work environment, opportunities for professional development, and a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and the community.</p> <p>Apply Today!</p> <p>EOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disabled</p>
