<p>Responsible for helping coordinate the weekday and weekend various activities of the golf shop at the Burns Park Golf Course; provides clerical support; and gives assistance with various golf procedures by performing the following duties.The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.</p> <p> </p> <p>Registers patrons and schedules activities: opens and/or closes the Pro Shop/clubhouse/golf facility daily; takes reservations in person and by telephone, scheduling and regulating tee times; checks patrons in and out; collects and records greens fees and golf cart rentals; sets up weekly tee times and starter sheets for recurring reservations, tournaments, leagues, and special events; coordinates men's and women's golf association schedules and activities. </p> <p> </p> <p>Assists patrons: explains golf procedures, the rules of golf, and Burns Park Golf Course policies to patrons; monitors compliance with rules; answers golf related questions; takes messages, paging patrons as necessary; provides monetary change; sells golf pro shop merchandise. </p> <p> </p> <p>Manages pull cart and motorized cart rental: completes rental forms; services and stages carts as necessary; checks carts in and out; cleans trash out of carts and washes to make presentable as necessary. </p> <p> </p> <p>Maintains records & provides clerical assistance: keeps daily activity records; balances data and money from daily clearance sheets, greens fee tickets, golf cart sheets and cash register and VISA/MC tickets and receipts; keeps record of cart rental use and storage; makes daily deposits in bank(s); maintains pro shop files; prepares forms and flyers; prepares and processes supply and equipment orders; handles mail. </p> <p> </p> <p>Miscellaneous duties: sweeps, dusts, mops, vacuums, takes out trash, and cleans restrooms as necessary; makes minor repairs such as changing light bulbs as needed; assists with covering greens during inclement weather as needed. </p> <p> </p> <p> To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p> </p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent, two (2) years directly related experience in a golf shop/course that includes handling money and deposits, and one (1) year supervisory experience.</p> <p> </p> <p> The complexity, guidelines, supervisory controls, and supervision responsibilities described below are representative of this position.</p> <p> </p> <p>SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:</p> <p>The supervisor defines objectives, priorities, and deadlines. The employee plans and carries out steps and handles problems and deviations in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices. The work is evaluated for technical soundness and conformity to policy.</p> <p> </p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:</p> <p>The employee provides task supervision to part-time golf assistants, golf shop help, and range and cart helpers.</p> <p> </p> <p>COMPLEXITY:</p> <p>The work consists of duties that involve related steps, processes, or methods; the decision regarding what needs to be done involves various choices requiring the employee to recognize the existence of and differences among a few easily recognizable situations; actions to be taken or responses to be made differ in such things as the source of information, the kind of transactions or entries, or other differences of a factual nature. </p> <p> </p> <p>GUIDELINES:</p> <p>Guidelines are available, but not completely applicable. Employee uses judgement to interpret and adapt guidelines.</p> <p> </p>
